LOCATED IN ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS- LOOKING TO ONLY ADOPT OUT IN ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS AREA.....HARRY IS NOT A LAP DOG- HE NEEDS AN ADOPTER WHO CAN AND WILL GET HIM OUT FOR LONG WALKS- VERY ENERGETIC - CAN BE VERY STUBBORN AND STRONG WILLED- NEEDS A PATIENT, LOVING, GENTLE BUT FIRM ADOPTER. <br/><br/>Harry came to our rescue this past summer from Missouri. He soon tested positive for Heartworm after arriving. Our very skilled and reliable Veterinary staff got Harry through his Heartworm treatment and he has now tested negative for Heartworm. Because Heartworm treatment has to be the priority, Harry's neuter had to be put on hold. He is now scheduled for his neuter surgery in February. For this reason, we are ONLY looking for an adopter in the Rockford area where we reside so that our Vet can perform the surgery since they have been treating him. If a Cairn Terrier experienced adopter is interested NEAR ROCKFORD and after a background check we can work out making sure he is neutered by that adopters Vet, we may consider that if that adopter is willing to help cover costs (for instance, Chicago area Vet costs will be more so we would ask you to assist in covering costs- can probably work that into the adoption fee). WE WILL INITIALLY REQUIRE A FOSTER TO ADOPT SIGNED CONTRACT. YOU WILL SIGN A CONTRACT SAYING YOU WILL FOSTER HARRY UNTIL AFTER HIS NEUTER SURGERY, AND THAT YOU AGREE TO ADOPT HIM AFTER HE IS NEUTERED. - THE CONTRACT WILL ALSO STATE THAT YOU AGREE TO KEEP HIM AWAY FROM UNALTERED FEMALE DOGS AND YOU WILL GO OUTSIDE WITH HIM AND NOT LEAVE HIM UNATTENDED Harry's personality- Very sweet, silly and funny. Very energetic, wants you to throw hus toys. He can be kept busy with knuckle bones to chew on - NO RAWHIDES. His original home had children and other dogs that he got along with. Gets along better with gentle, laid back female dogs. Harry sometimes marks- we keep a belly wrap on him at all times to keep him out of trouble! He is worth that minor detail, he's very sweet and very deserving of a patient, loving home. He is 3 years old and deserves a responsible stable home and we will make sure he gets that.
