Harry's Story

If you like grumbly dogs that walk around grumbling and mumbling about a whole lot of nothing...then Harry is your guy!! He is an absolute love, always appreciating attention, petting and belly rubs... but being misunderstood because he walks around grumbling. He comes to life in the evening, bouncing around the hallways and bouncing off the beds with a huge huge smile on his face!

Harry received his name in Rescue as he came in mostly bald with an underlying yeast infection in his skin. That has since been treated and his hair is growing back beautifully! . He was scheduled to be euthanized due to his extreme fear in the shelter and all of his grumbling that nobody trusted. He is really just a big schmooze that has a lot to say, but doesn’t quite know how to express it properly. He is playful and fun and good with cats and other dogs that don’t mind his growling noises. He has perfect house manners and can be playful and crazy chasing toys as well as curled up in a ball or splayed out upside down for hours on end. He walks good on a leash, but is still terrified to meet new people/experience new things when out and about. He warms up much quicker with people that come into the house.
He is 18 months-2 years old and lived his first part of life in a shed with 30 other dogs on the back of a property before Animal Control confiscated them. His forever owner needs to be his leader so he can build confidence in a positive manner. Breed mix is a guess. 35#. Kids are NOT recommended due to his growly grumbling that most would not understand. Fenced yard required-he can be very skittish.

Contact irondawgs13@gmail.com for adoption application
