Meet Harken - Plays Very Gently!

Harken is a wonderful, young boy who has come so far in such a short amount of time! Although found as a stray, and not clear if he had ever lived in a home, worn a collar or walked on a leash, he is now calmly walking on a leash, taking treats like a gentleman and happily living indoors. Harken’s best friend in the world is a tiny, 4 pound chihuahua :) He loves to play with his little pal and is so gentle! He is playfully curious with cats, but leaves them alone for the most part. He’ll need proper introductions, time and space to warm up to big dogs in the home and has done well meeting new people and children. Older kids, who are steady on their feet, will be a good fit for this guy. Harken loves to sleep belly-up in tight spaces and will make sure you have proper “help” in the bathroom :) Harken is looking for a Pyr-experienced family, as he can be quite the Houdini at times. He is showing some mild, early signs of hip dysplasia in one hip, so his new family should be committed to keeping him at a healthy weight. Harken loves leisurely walks, without any big obstacles, and loves getting attention from his humans. He will give you the famous Pyr Paw to indicate he wants more pets or scratches. Harken is a wonderful boy, who’s come so far and still has so much potential - if he sounds like the Pyrfect boy for your family, apply for him today!

For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
