Harbor (MR26-148)'s Story

Harbor is a 2-year-old Catahoula weighing 61 lbs, with a sweet, friendly personality and a big love for his people. He enjoys being close to his humans and thrives when he's included as part of the family. Harbor may be a little shy at first when meeting new dogs or new people, and he will do best with slow, gradual introductions to help him feel comfortable and secure.

He is still building his confidence in social environments around both dogs and humans, and continues to grow as he experiences new situations. Harbor loves toys, enjoys going for walks on leash, and is a smart, food-motivated boy who is eager to learn and engage with training.

He just needs a patient home willing to go at his pace, support his confidence-building, and help him continue to blossom. A meet and greet at the shelter is required to ensure a good fit for Harbor and his future family.
------
Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
