He was part of a large haul of dogs kept outdoors on chains that were brought into various LA County Shelters by Animal Control at the end of 2021, from where we rescued him.
We recommend he be adopted with Lilac (also available for adoption) as they make the perfect couple. From his foster Mom:
"Fosters Jindo Lilac and Asian mix Handsome are fun dogs. They love hanging out in the guest house as long as I am there. Otherwise they hang out in the compound outside. Twice a day they get out to run. And they love to run and chase things. These two are ready for their furever home. They will need room to romp. I'm sure having lived on four foot chains adds to their love of running. They are both beautiful to watch. I haven't had much time to leash work them but they have both been on leashes enough to know they will be good. He is neutered, chipped, wormed, and current on all his shots."
His foster also describes him:
"Very chill. I have to put a leash on him to get him out of his kennel. He pulls on a leash but no alligator rolls. I'm taking him for nice short walks. He lets me touch him all over - no issues. He enjoys the company of my other dogs through the fence and he loves to play bow them".
He also uses the dog door like a pro!
He would do well with a family that shared his energy levels and had time to give him the exercise and stimulation he benefits from.
As with any dog to dog introduction, we'd recommend caution and patience to ensure best results.
We have not tested him with cats or small critters, but would expect him to show a normal prey drive for such creatures.
We have not tested him with children either, but would want to ensure that any children in his potential forever home were familiar with dog body language.
His foster ran a DNA test on him and as we had rescued him from a group of Jindo/Husky mixes, we were not terribly surprised by the results!
