Hancock aka "Johnny Hancock"'s Story

Meet the one and only Johnny Hancock. This incredibly sweet, young pup is a bundle of love and joy, with a heart as big as his curiosity. He's always up for a good time with his two legged or four legged companions. With a face that's both handsome and gentle, Johnny will charm your socks off and then nudge you for kisses. He's affectionate, loyal, and friendly, and his funny antics will keep you smiling. He's a real, people-dog, and will be your shadow, your snuggle buddy, and your forever friend.

Johnny Hancock came to us having been saved from a kill shelter in North Carolina, by a dear friend and transport partner. Johnny and his brother both appeared to be normal, healthy 8 month old pups. However, when Johnny was presented to be neutered the veterinarians discovered a heart murmur. Our partners asked us if we would consider taking Johnny, knowing that we were in close proximity to Cornell University and their world class cardiology department.

His cardiology consult revealed that he has several congenital heart defects that may well limit his life span. For all intents and purposes Johnny Hancock appears to be a perfectly normal puppy doing normal puppy things. His exercise is somewhat limited, no long hikes or crazy rough housing, and he is on one medication with the hope of prolonging his life.
Hancock is going to be on the small side when full grown weighing in at only 30 pounds at ten months old.

So, if you're looking for an incredibly sweet, faithful companion to fill your life with curiosity, affection, and laughter for whatever time you can share come meet Johnny Hancock today and prepare to fall in love! He's ready to put his 'John Hancock' on the adoption papers and seal the deal with a million kisses.

The adoption fee for puppies is $275. All have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies, kennel cough, DH(L)PP, have had a complete fecal analysis, treated for internal and external parasites, are heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative and flea and tick preventative and are microchipped. Stop in on Monday, Thursday and Friday from 10- 1, Saturdays from 10 - 4, Sundays from 2-5 without an appointment or call us at 607-594-2255 to schedule an appointment. Or, visit our website www.schuylerhumane.org to fill out an adoption application to get the process started.
