Hamilton's Story
ADOPTION PENDING!!!

Meet Hamilton!

This precious red bi guy with a nub tail is estimated at 2 years old and a little underweight at 40 pounds. He is such a sweet, curious, and lovable Aussie—shy at first but warms up very quickly. He rides great in a car, has still not barked in foster home, is crate trained, and housebroken (though will need consistency and patience in a new environment, like most adopted dogs). He loves to explore and walks well on a leash. He isnt especially food motivated but responds well to praise and is eager to listen.

Hamilton loves all people and dogs. He has learned from his foster brothers on treats, toys, and how to conquer the stairs. He would do great with another dog in the house. He is just starting to show his playful side and gets especially excited in the mornings. Hes generally a more medium energy Aussie and high velcro—likes to be right by you. He has not been kid or cat tested yet.

In a short amount of time, he has overcome many things that make him nervous but hes still working on getting used to doorways, new rooms, and getting brushed. Sometimes being pet on his back side and being leashed also makes him nervous, but hes getting better! He just retreats to a safe place, such as his crate, when hes uncomfortable.

Hamiltons ideal home would have someone home a lot and maybe another dog (though its not required). He will be your best bud. He would do well with someone who is willing to be patient and show him the world isnt such a scary place. He learns quickly and has lots of love to give. Hamilton is fostered in Herndon, VA. If you think you are the perfect home for Hamilton, apply today!

https://aussierescueofthemidatlantic.org/applications-2/
