Hambone(Paws in Prison Participant) Hound Mix Little Rock, AR

Here’s a good looking boy and he has spots! This is Mr. Hambone. But you can just call him Hambone. He’s a hound mix, which explains the adorable ticking on him. He’s about two years old and weighs 60 pounds, give or take. He has a solid build. When rescued, he was afraid that he was about to be hit. So that tells you a lot about his past and none of it is good. He’s doing better, but loud noises still scare him. Hambone is an energetic boy and needs a home where regular exercise and outings happen. This is not a good picture of him...this dog is very striking!!!

Hambone is from the Paws in Prison program where he received obedience training. The dogs in this program are trained under the AKC Canine Good Citizen standards and are specifically selected to be family and companion dogs. They spend 24 hours a day with their trainers. For that reason, they will do best in homes where they are primarily inside dogs and spend lots of time with their families. The adoptive family will receive his training journal. This journal documents everything from his entering the facility, his daily training progress, and interactions with his trainers.
