Hi. I’m Gus. I’m 6 years old, a Shih Tzu, and I’m currently accepting applications for my next forever human. Please read carefully. I have standards. I’m fully housebroken (because I’m not an animal... wait), calm, quiet, and emotionally mature. I coexist peacefully with cats and calm small dogs, but kids are a no (nothing personal, I just prefer serenity). I like things a certain way and will silently judge if they are not. Please do not pick me up—I prefer all four paws on the ground like a gentleman. I may be a little finicky, but that’s just flavor. I do enjoy going for walks, and if you even think about touching my leash, I will become VERY excited. A gentleman needs his daily stroll, after all! And while I’m not needy (that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it), I do expect my humans to provide affection when I request it. I can be a little persistent about these things. A fellow gentleman has needs, you know. An older lady would be lovely, someone who enjoys quiet mornings, routines, leisurely walks, and understands that love can be expressed by simply sitting near each other doing absolutely nothing... preferably while giving me the occasional compliment and affection on demand. I’m not needy. I’m not chaotic. I’m more of a “we share a peaceful existence, I follow you from room to room, and I remind you when it’s time for cuddles” type.
