Gus Polinski's Story

Gus is a scruffy little heart-stealer who looks like he walked straight out of a classic movie — a perfect “Benji” dog with his adorable mix of Chihuahua and Cairn Terrier charm.

He may be a bit nervous when meeting new people, but give him a little patience and you’ll see his true self shine. Once Gus builds trust, he becomes the ultimate cuddle companion — happily snoozing on his back with his head on your pillow like he’s always belonged there.

Gus has two speeds: lightning-fast backyard zoomies and cozy snuggle mode. He absolutely loves running at top speed in a large, secure yard, though leisurely neighborhood walks aren’t really his thing. When he’s not racing around, you’ll find him happily chewing away on his favorite Benebone.

He’s a smart boy, too! Gus is kennel trained (he goes right in for a treat), potty trained, and bark collar trained.

He does well with bigger dogs and is very interested in cats— he lives with a
twenty-five pound Siamese who he actually plays with like a puppy!

Gus is looking for a patient, loving home that will give him a little time to feel safe — and then enjoy a lifetime of loyalty, laughter, and snuggles in return.

Could Gus be your new best friend?
