Gru's Story

Meet Gru: Chicago's weirdest little gentleman. He has an adorable underbite, a permanently confused expression, and recently traded his tail for a cleaner bill of health. Having a mast cell tumor removed, his tail had to be amputated—but hes healed beautifully and is officially cancer-free!

Around 5 yrs old, Gru is house trained and crate trained and is an excellent napper. He enjoys car rides, snacks, and most importantly, socks! He does well with cats and other calm canine friends (he is not looking for a playmate) and tends to favor adults over kids. Short walks are great, but you may need to carry him home if you wander too far.

Gru is looking for a home that is adequately stocked with snacks where he can relax and be waited on. An apartment would work well as would a home with a yard. Once you prove yourself, you'll find Gru to be a loyal sidekick. Come see Gru today, and just maybe, if you're nice, he'll let you sign him up for Invisalign!

Interested in meeting this dog?
Visit our website (https://www.sccrescue.org/) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend.

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog's individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog.

Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don't know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area.
