GRIZZLY - COURTESY LISTING's Story

Grizzly is an 8 year old border collie mix (we think with aussie). He is super smart and affectionate! He's never met a person he doesn't want to love on. He LOVES to play fetch with his Frisbee, play in the water hose spray, chase our four wheelers and golf cart, and be near us as we do anything on the property. He is up to date on all shots but is not neutered.

Grizzly would do best in a home with no other dogs. He is currently recovering from a dog attack which has him scared and defensive around other dogs. He has lived peacefully on our farm with our other dogs since we rescued him as a puppy. We got a Great Pyrenees 2 years ago and recently (last 6 months), the GP and one of our other Aussies have teamed up and bully Grizzly. It has progressively gotten more and more aggressive and has resulted in a fight about 4 months ago. Since then, he is obviously fearful and on high alert all the time. He seems traumatized. We have been trying to do training with all of them and thought it was getting better, but they attacked him again. He ended up with 8 staples, lots of lacerations, and a punctured scrotum.

He is obviously separated from the other dogs while he is healing, but once he is healed (1-2 weeks), for his safety, I feel I need to rehome him as soon as possible. I can't keep him here on the property in danger of them turning on him again.

Grizzly has always been an outdoor farm dog. He has not been house trained, but he has slept inside for a few weeks since he is recovering and has not had an accident.

If you would like more information about Grizzly you can email owners at stikephoto@gmail.com Grizzly is located in Indian Land SC.

ARCBCR courtesy lists dogs for individual owners, other rescues, and shelters wishing to place their Border Collies or Border Collie-mixes themselves.

These dogs are NOT in the ARCBCR program.
