Grizzly's Story

Age: 1 year
Size: 46 lbs
Estimated breed: Pit bull/Chesapeake bay retriever

Grizzly was discovered by our southern rescue partner, living outside on a chain with several of his family members. Their owner was recently incarcerated, leaving his elderly father in charge of caring for a yard full of chained up dogs. He reached out for assistance with feeding and neutering the dogs on the property. During this outreach, it was discovered that Grizzly's brother frequently escaped his tether and began fights with Grizzly, who could not escape due to being tied up. For everyone's safety, Grizzly was surrendered to our partner post-neuter, giving him the chance to not only recovery from surgery safely, but become a beloved family member.

Grizzly just turned 1 year old and weighs 46 lbs. We are guessing he is a pit bull/chesapeake bay retriever mix, but we can't say for sure! Grizzly is a shy, sensitive boy who really blossoms around other dogs. He's been in foster care with several different dogs and has gotten along with them all. Without other dogs to give him confidence, he's more shy and reserved, so we'd love to place him into a family with at least one other doggie sibling. Grizzly is kind and gentle with people and is getting caught up on all the training he missed while living outside. He'll make a wonderful companion!

To adopt Grizzly, please apply on our website! https://www.nirvanaanimalrescue.org/adoption-application

Grizzly's adoption fee is $350, which covers his neuter, vaccines, microchip, and monthly prevention.

Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of our dogs. All of our dogs are working on crate and house training.

PA Kennel License #18366
