Griffin's Story

Griffin wants to be your new BFF!
Griffin is an Aussie and is about 2 years old.

He is ready for his new forever home! Here is what his foster mom, Katherine, has to say about him:

Griffin is extremely easy to train. He took to clicker training immediately.

We are working on:
- Muzzle training - needed for medical appointments
- walking on a 6 ft lead without pulling
- No problem brushing him, looking at his teeth or general grooming. Allowed nail trimming with treats and going slow

- He is a quick learner
- He easily crates at night and during the day in the office (where he naps) and he easily crates in the car
- He does like a routine
- He easily stays behind a gate when needed (we have gates and crates everywhere)
- He can be trusted to have the run of the house and has not had any accidents.
- When left alone for a few hours he just curled up and went to sleep
- He is very playful! Loves toys!!
- He loves, loves, loves being outdoors and loves burrowing in the deep snow. He loves hiking.
- He is quite curious and athletic; he could do great in Nosework, Agility, Parkour, Tricks, maybe Flyball and likely Disc. He also loves a puddle so possibly even Dock Diving.
- He is very food motivated and not picky
- He is very sweet

- He is learning about boundaries and taking cues from the resident pups. He does have the hard Aussie type play style
- He is a little shy at first and prefers meeting on his level
- He is "mouthy" like a puppy when he gets excited or wants to play, though not aggressive in any way.

Griffin would do well in an active home.
He would be a great dog to take camping and hiking!
A home with no children would be best.

He will need ongoing training and would do well to be in a group class so he can learn more impulse control around other dogs.

He is a very aloof dog which is part of what makes him sweet and goofy.
