Grasshopper's Story

Grasshopper doesn't so much hop as waddle.
Beagles love to eat, and Grasshopper is a Beagle through and through. His waistline suggests he's never met a snack he didn't like. Despite carrying a little extra fluff around the middle, this happy, healthy 3-year-old is eager to do all the other things that make beagles fabulous -- sniff the sniffs, explore the world one smell at a time, snuggle with his people, and occasionally engage in just enough mischief to remind you that beagles have been keeping humans on their toes for generations.
Grasshopper came to us with two canine friends after their owner passed away. We know the dogs lived outside, but we also know they were loved.
You can see it in the way Grasshopper greets people with a tail that spins so fast it practically blurs. You can see it in his soulful eyes that seem to search every face for kindness. You can feel it when he leans against you for affection and quietly soaks up every bit of it.
Grasshopper deserves a family who will cherish that gentle heart, help him trade a few pounds for a few adventures, and give him the security and love every dog deserves. In return, he'll provide plenty of beagle charm, unwavering companionship, and enough enthusiastic sniffing to thoroughly investigate every inch of your neighborhood.
Grasshopper is available for adoption through Animal Aid Society, located at 80 Butler Farm Road in Hampton, VA. Visiting hours are 9 a.m. to noon every day, including weekends and holidays.
Come meet Grasshopper. He may waddle over to greet you, but we're pretty sure he'll walk away with your heart.
Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!

PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
