Granby's Story
FAST FACTS:
* 1 Year Old & 50lbs
* Dog Friendly
* No Cats
* Potty Trained
* Crate Trained
* Very Affectionate Dog
* Sponsored & Waived Adoption Fee

Granby is a smart, energetic, 50-ish pound boy with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life! Originally from Texas, he’s now looking for a patient, dog-savvy home that will appreciate his drive, intelligence, and playful spirit.

Granby is fully potty trained and has not had a single accident in his foster home. He sleeps through the night peacefully in his crate and goes right to the door when he needs to go out. He’s also crate trained and settles beautifully when his people are away. During the day, he enjoys relaxing on the couch (his preferred sleeping spot!) and is especially sweet and slow-moving in the mornings before his day gets going.

This boy has a high energy level and absolutely thrives with activity. He loves long walks, running in a large fenced yard, chewing on bones, and playing with toys — especially rope toys. He’s a heavy chewer, so he’ll need durable toys to keep him busy. When he’s tired, he’s happy to crash on the couch and recharge for the next adventure.

Granby is extremely treat motivated and very smart. He already knows sit, down, paw, stay (when he’s feeling cooperative 😉), knows his name, and comes when called. He’s still gaining confidence with things like brushing and handling but improves quickly when treats are involved. He’s head shy but making progress every day.

He appears to love people and gets excited to engage and play. Because he can get a little mouthy and enthusiastic when excited, he would do best in a home without young children. An experienced, patient adopter who understands resource guarding and is committed to continued training will help him truly shine.

Granby has been in many play groups with other dogs and is very social at times. From a distance, he shows interest in other dogs and may bark or get excited depending on the dog. He’s been described as a rough-and-tumble player who enjoys most dogs but can be selective about his friends if reactive. Slow, proper introductions and a confident handler will be key.

Granby will do best with:

• No young children

• A large fenced yard

• A dog-savvy, patient adopter

• Plenty of exercise and mental stimulation

In return, you’ll get a loyal, goofy, couch-loving companion who just wants to play, learn, and be part of your world. With structure, enrichment, and continued guidance, Granby has so much potential to be an incredible lifelong partner.

If you’re ready for an active, smart, and entertaining best friend, Granby may be your guy.
