Gracie's Story
Gracie is a special girl in many ways. Come along for story time...Gracie first arrived at Gigi's in October of 2025. Due to her looks and personality she was quickly tagged a potential dog for a special Veteran's program that Gigi's is involved with that helps match companion dogs to veterans in need. It was also quickly discovered that Gracie suffered from hip dysplasia that would require bi-lateral hip surgery. Thankfully our skilled surgeon and medical staff was able to provide Gracie her much needed surgery. She spent time in foster care post surgery through her recovery and physical therapy until she could paired with a veteran. She lived many months as a helpful Veteran dog until life circumstances changed for the Veteran and Gracie found her way to back to Gigis.

What can we say about this girl, well she's a social butterfly and likes everyone she meets. Due to her medical history, she'll need medications to help her feel comfortable and has adjusted to life with some mild restrictions to her movement. This doesn't slow her down; she likes to partake in activities and play with every dog she interacts with even if they may not seem as enthusiastic about it. We recommend introductions to potential dog housemates prior to adoption to ensure they'll get along.
Gracie will benefit from continued reward-based training as she continues to work on leash walking skills and basic manners. She has been noted to be potty trained and accepts crating for reasonable periods of time.

Gracie is approximately 3.5 years old, currently weighs 57 pounds, and appears to be a Standard Poodle mix, though without a DNA test we cannot say for sure.

Gracie has received their full-service vet care, vaccines, pre-adoption behavior support, microchip and is spayed. To meet this dog or any of our other ready-for-adoption dogs, visit Gigi's during our open adoption hours listed on www.gigis.org. By adopting a Gigi’s Grad, you are helping other shelter dogs in need get vital care and an opportunity to find a new family, just like yours — together we’re improving the lives of shelter dogs™.
