Grace's Story

Grace is a shy, sweet Australian Cattle Dog mix with a gentle heart and a soft, thoughtful presence. She tends to take the world in at her own pace, observing first and trusting slowly—but meaningfully—once she feels safe. Under her reserved exterior is a kind and affectionate girl who blossoms beautifully with patience and kindness. Grace finds comfort in calm environments, gentle routines, and people who allow her the time she needs to come out of her shell. Once she begins to trust, her sweet personality shines through in quiet companionship and soft moments of connection. Grace is looking for a patient, understanding home where she can feel secure, build confidence, and truly be cherished for the sensitive, loving dog she is.

Overnight sleepover: Grace was a delightful overnight guest. While she can be a little shy at the shelter, she began to blossom in a home environment, happily exploring the yard and investigating every corner of the house. With a little time and patience, her confidence grew, and she frequently checked in with me. Grace enjoyed gentle pets, kind words, and having a safe space to retreat to when she needed a moment to relax. She slept quietly through the night in her playpen, kept her area clean, and had no accidents in the house during her stay (with frequent trips outside). Grace also showed polite, mild interest in my dogs and seemed comfortable sharing space with them. As with any new canine companion, a meet-and-greet with resident dogs is recommended. Grace is a sweet girl who continues to gain confidence and would love a patient family to help her shine.
