We love to celebrate when we are able to get a dog safely out of the shelter and into a foster home - but sometimes those happy feelings are accompanied by a punch-to-the-gut feeling - when now we can really see how thin, frail, emaciated, and timid Gracie really is <br/>In these pictures, she literally just arrived and exited her crate. She's been "Transfer Door Only" since 5/10, understandably terrified at the shelter by the incessant barking from much, much larger dogs. And judging by the underweight condition in which her previous owners surrendered her... life before the shelter couldn't have been that great. (they also had the audacity to blame her for fighting over food with other dogs )<br/>It may take her a little bit to realize that she no longer has to worry about her next meal, but we can promise her that everything will only get better from here. We wish we could tell her how many people advocated for her, that two fosters are worked together to rescue her.
