Gonzo's Story

If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to visit with this animal, please email us at info@animalhope.org or call 817‐984‐1129 between 12 pm and 6 pm.

Gonzo is a 51⁄2‐year‐old Pekingese-Terrier mix weighing about 6.4 pounds. He came to us as a stray, so we don't have any background information on him, but he has shown himself to be a sweet, gentle little guy who enjoys following his people around and staying close.

Upon arrival, Gonzo needed deworming, a tooth extraction, and was diagnosed with pyoderma, a skin infection that he is currently being treated for with medicated baths. He has been doing well with treatment, and our veterinary team has otherwise cleared him as healthy and ready for adoption. His adoption fee is $400.

Gonzo does well with other dogs, though he can become overwhelmed by dogs who don't respect his space. He can be a bit timid at times, but overall he has a loving, easygoing personality.

Because we don't observe our animals in home settings, we aren't able to guarantee whether he is housebroken.

Upon intake, every animal receives:

Spay/neuter surgery

Microchip

All age‐appropriate vaccinations

Blood and fecal testing (with treatment if needed)

Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention

A complimentary wellness exam 7-10 days after adoption

Adopters must be at least 21 years old and live within an hour of our facility.

If you'd like to meet Gonzo, we'd be happy to help. He's a tender, loyal little dog who's ready for a safe, loving home where he can continue to heal and feel secure. 🐾✨
