Gonzo's Story

Gonzo is a three-year-old, 20lb. North American Shepherd or more commonly known as a Minnie Aussie/Minnie Australian Shepherd. He is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.

Gonzo was found as a stray and brought to us. He was with Kermit, a Rat Terrier. They are friends but not bonded.

Gonzo is dog social with the dogs here at our rescue and has met other dogs during outings. He has met a cat and seemed to be fine, not being afraid or aggressive towards him. Gonzo has shown to be more comfortable with teenagers and adults. Younger kids under 10 or 12 seem to make him uncomfortable and maybe nippy. Gonzo is house trained. Being a stray and fending for himself, he has learned to resource guard with his food. Feeding him in a safe and regular place will teach him to be more relaxed. Training and practice here at our rescue have shown improvement. He does take treats gently. Gonzo loves belly rubs, playing tug and toss with a toy rope, taking walks and spending time with his people. He is learning basic commands: come, sit, wait, kennel, leash and car manners.

Gonzo is a fun little dog. He just prefers a less hectic lifestyle. He is very smart and I believe would learn new tricks and commands quickly. Though his past is somewhat unknown, he has shown happiness and gratefulness to us here at the rescue. He is young enough to enjoy his new future, family and forever home.

Adoption Fee: $175.00

It is our policy to do all meet and greets at your home with your family and other pets available.
