Gollum's Story
Don’t be fooled by the name—Gollum is no troublemaker, but a gentle, distinguished older gentleman who has no plans of tossing anyone into the fires of Mt. Doom. While he’s still a bit unsure about humans (we suspect some past “betrayals” by the fellowship), he does enjoy being around them... just at a safe and respectful distance.

He’ll happily serenade you with the songs of his people, more mysterious mountain echoes than choir, and he takes his role as a cheese connoisseur very seriously (it’s his “precious”). He prefers lots of naps and ruling over his kingdom of blankets like a true king of his crate.

He’s curious about his foster siblings but would prefer a companion closer to his size. He’s still learning the basics, he’d never even been outside before, so things like potty training, grass, cars rides, leashes, and collars are all new and still kind of scary to him. But he’s eager to learn, wants to please, and is starting to realize that human affection is actually pretty fantastic, especially in the form of chin scratches.

Gollum will need someone patient and understanding of his past, someone willing to continue working with him as he learns how to be a dog for the very first time. He’s living proof that even an older hobbit...errr, dog, can learn new tricks, with a little patience and a lot of love.

Gollum is available for adoption in Knoxville, TN and his fee is $150.
