Glory's Story

Hi everyone!

My name is Glory. I was named Glory because I came into Rescue around the 4th
of July. I am a middle-aged, Mahogany Sable, Sheltie girl, they are guessing 10,
but I don’t feel that old, as I sure enjoy life! I love running with my foster sister
and brothers, love barking, but not too much, and I love sniffing and tasting the
world around me.

Because I spent the first part of my life in a crowded Sheltie community, I did not
learn a lot of commands. My foster moms have taught me to sit, and I am
learning to stay. I love following my Sheltie foster family around. I am good at
following the crowd. My foster Mom says I understand body language really well!

I love my daily walks, though I am not fond of my harness. I am learning that it is
not a bad thing; I just never wore one before. I am shy, but very trusting of my
foster mom. I love to give her kisses and keep her company wherever she is.

I love breakfast and dinner time. I sometimes bark in anticipation of getting my
food. When I came into rescue my teeth in poor shape, so thankfully, they
removed them. I feel much better without them. I eat my dinner including kibble,
with no problem. My foster mom adds other yummy things to my food, like
cooked broccoli or beans, apple pieces and cut up meats. Some people have
thought that since I have no teeth that I would need special food. Not true! My
food is the same as my foster siblings!

That said, I am still getting accustomed to having no teeth. When I get excited, I
play with my tongue, like it doesn’t know how to act, and it has a life of its own.
My foster mom says I am being silly!

My foster mom and I agree should have a nice fenced yard where I will have lots
of room to sniff around with my new sheltie sibling(s). I really love doggy
company, so that would be ideal.

My foster mom says I am one of the sweetest Shelties she has known, and that is
something, cause she’s pretty old and has had Shelties in her life, like-forever. I
am so ready for a furever home, and I promise, I am really good girl.
