Dog Name:Gladys
Age: 4 1/2
Gender: female
Breed: Bulldog mix
Weight: 62
Crate trained: yes
Potty trained: yes
Dog friendly: yes, with proper slow intros
Cat friendly: unknown
Kid friendly: yes
Vaccinated: Yes
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Heartworm: Negative
Microchipped: Yes
Energy level: low/medium

Location: Gladys is being fostered in Aurora, IL.

Meet Gladys!! Gladys is the perfect combination of playful and snuggly. She really enjoys enrichment activities, especially puzzles!

This girl will keep you laughing. When putting on her harness, she raises her front leg all the way up to put it on, and then proceeds to roll over for belly rubs, one of her favorite things!

Gladys is potty trained and crate trained. She jumps right in the crate and waits for her enrichment. We don't know her past but one of her quirks can be seen when she's provided with a comfortable crate to sleep in. We have absolutely no idea why, but Gladys will pee on blankets or a bed that's put in her crate. She apparently hates crate comfort. It's incredibly strange! Obviously we want to provide her with something soft to lay on, but Gladys isn't having it. Save yourself the headache and laundry and put her in a barren crate with her toys/enrichment. That's Gladys' preference.

She is a great leash walker, only pulling occasionally. She likes a leisurely stroll where she can take in the different smells on her walk.

Gladys loves children. She really enjoys playing and hanging out with her foster's 10 year-old granddaughter. She's also dog friendly but does require SLOW introductions. She's currently living with large and small dogs. Initially she starts out being "bossy", but given time, she coexists and plays nicely with a canine companion. Slow intros are a MUST though.

If you're interested in meeting, Gladys, please fill out an
application at the link below.

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DHDN/Dog

Post Adoption Perks:

Tangible DHD Adoption Extras: All dogs come with their collar, leash, harness, and some transitional dog food (if adopter will be changing foods).

Medical DHD Adoption Extras: All adopted DHD dogs will receive a certificate for a free wellness visit (worth up to $250) at Naperville Animal Hospital. Wellness certificate must be utilized within 2 weeks of adoption.

Training DHD Extras: Adopters & Fosters receive 30 day access to Petcademy. What is Petcademy? Petcademy provides 30 days of training and behavioral support via text message and email. It's like having a trainer in your pocket! You can reach out to their team of certified trainers with your toughest questions and they'll respond within 24 hours, 7 days a week.

But that's not all! If you're looking for in person training support, our friends at Canine Crews are offering a 50% discount for their 'Basic FUNdamentals Group Training Class'

Additional details can be found in your adoption packet upon completion.
