A very special little boy & a life truly worth saving. Gizmo is an incredibly sweet soul who shows his gratitude for being rescued every single day. He is deeply affectionate and happiest when he’s curled up in a lap or settled beside you, gently resting his muzzle in your hand while soaking up pets. Belly rubs are already a favorite, and he melts into them with complete trust. He has formed a strong bond with his foster mom and may whimper when I leave him—not from separation anxiety, but simply because he loves being close to his people and feels most secure nearby. Gizmo is wonderful with our 9-year-old daughter. He happily crawls into her lap, soaks up all the pets, and gives gentle, affectionate kisses.<br/>Gizmo is currently very underweight and is being fed 3–4 small meals a day using a slow feeder bowl. He is extremely food-motivated, which helps with training. Extra food rewards are given when he goes potty outside as we work on housebreaking. Housebreaking: a work in progress. Gizmo does not yet communicate his needs clearly yet, but his biggest cue is simple—he always wants to be by your side. If he gets up and moves away, it’s a good signal that he should be taken outside. Cold, wet, and snowy weather since his arrival may be contributing to this challenge, and he has been wearing a coat or sweater both indoors and outdoors for warmth. Gizmo will need guidance with food boundaries. He will beg at the table and kitchen counter, and if you snack on the couch, he will absolutely expect to share. He responds very well to gentle correction and redirection. He isn’t especially interested in our pug pack yet, but everyone is coexisting peacefully and calmly. One of his most endearing traits? The adorable little groans and grumbly noises he makes when he’s content and snuggly. It’s impossibly cute & guaranteed to steal your heart. Personality: loving, gentle, grateful, and snuggly. Gizmo is the kind of dog who wants nothing more than to be loved—and to love you right back. Gizmo is scheduled for his neuter on Monday 12/29. Not long ago, I was outside, cold, hungry, and unsure, but now I am safe, warm, wrapped in love with a full belly - and that means everything to a little pup like me. I am so thankful for my foster family who opened their hearts and home to me. They give the best snuggles, the softest blankets, and make me feel safe every single day. Until I find my forever home, I promise to do my very best job here—bringing comfort, joy, and lots of gentle love to everyone I meet. I’m keeping my paws crossed that my forever family finds me soon, but until then, I’ll keep spreading warmth, tail wags, and gratitude wherever I go. He was found as a stray by a great shelter we work with. Someone contacted the animal control officer & said they knew who the owner was and they tracked her down. She is a homeless woman squatting in an apartment and kept this poor little boy on a back porch. She just simply said I don’t want him, I gave him away. She told them he was a french bulldog/boston terrier mix & about 1.5 years old. He does have a long tail so we figure there must be something else in his DNA background. He is 100 percent sweet for sure though! He has his vet checkup, shots, heartworm/lyme test & neuter next Monday 12/29 & then he will be ready for his new home.
