Gizmo's Story

Are you looking for a pocket-sized dog who has the potential of being your new best friend in no time at all? Then, you are looking for me! Here I am and my name is Gizmo. At 10 years old, I find myself in need of a home because my family could no longer keep us (us being myself and two other amazing Yorkies – Nala and Lexa). In a perfect world I would love to be adopted with Nala and Lexa but that might not be possible.

I might be a complicated little creature until I am at ease in my surroundings. You must introduce yourself slow and easy but then once I am comfortable with you, I could win a blue ribbon for my cuddling technique.

For the most part, very tiny dogs like myself do better in an adult home or one with older children; it is difficult for us to tolerate rambunctious kids who enter our comfort zone or boisterous little ones who can inadvertently step on or hurt a tiny dog.

Believe it or not, I need to use my legs; continuously being in my human’s arms will only create an armpit piranha. The muscles in my legs need to be used to keep them strong. Daily walks around the neighbourhood are important to keep me happy and healthy.

If you can offer me a soft bed, two square meals a day, lots of scratches behind the ears, and of course a treat now and then, you might be the one who gets to adopt me. I’m ready for someone to give me the love that I so miss – and a place to call home. Won’t you let me be the centre of your universe? If you are ready to love me and keep me forever, please fill in the Adoption Form.

“Everybody loves puppies.
