He's looking for a family who is interested in snuggling, admiring his adorable wee overbite face, having him keep their laps warm, and snuggling more.<br/><br/>Gizmo has lots of Shih Tzu traits - he can be protective of his people, he would like to be the only dog getting all the attention thank you very much, and he is low-key with minimal exercise needs. His favourite thing is to hang with his humans all day. He is, though crate trained and is happy to spend time in his crate for a few hours while you go out and do chores. He is not used to being crated for more than a few hours though and someone home part days will work best for him.<br/><br/>He can be selective about his doggie pals and comes across as pushy most of the time. He would like to be The Boss so he may be best as an only dog or with a dog who is very tolerant of Small Dog Syndrome. He will also occasionally guard his food/treats/bones from the other dogs (NOT from his people though), so again, either an only dog life for him, or someone used to working with guarders (his current foster easily works with him by feeding him away from the other dogs, giving him his bones in his crate to chew on and treats are never left laying around).<br/><br/>?Everyone who meets Gizmo falls in love with his goofy grin and snuggle buddy attitude. He would do very well with an older couple or single person looking for a loyal, loving companion. He is not overly barky for a small dog but this may change once he settles into his new home.<br/><br/>Gizmo is fine with kids 12+, will be happy with a few short walks each day and a bit of time lounging in the sun in a yard with his people.
