Gio is a charismatic, tripod wonder-dog who wants to show you what an awesome best friend he can be! Gio was rescued from a home in California where 10 dogs were living with an owner suffering from dementia who had to go into memory care. We have worked to get these dogs fully vetted and into foster in our program so that they can start fulfilling new lives. <br/><br/>- 43 pounds and approximately 3 years old<br/><br/>- Likely a Labrador Retriever mix. Chocolate brown coloring. <br/><br/>- Gio is missing a hind leg but is speedy, playful and very agile. It doesn't slow him down. We are not sure how he lost his hind leg. It was amputated before he came to rescue. <br/><br/>- Great with other dogs and loves to play. We prefer to place him in a home with another friendly dog for company. He gets along with all dogs large and small and both sexes. <br/><br/>- Good with cats and fostered with two kitties who he is very polite towards. <br/><br/>- Fostered with kids ages 6+ years old and he adores them. We think he could do fine with kids. <br/><br/>- Cuddly, happy guy who has a lot of enthusiasm for life. He loves to go on walks and adventures. <br/><br/>- Rides well in the car. No car sickness noted.<br/><br/>- Potty trained<br/><br/>- Crate trained <br/><br/>- Higher energy but also settles nicely in the home and can snuggle and nap on his bed or the couch. <br/><br/>Gio is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention.
