Ginger's Story

Have you ever seen a dog who tap dances with their front feet? Or who does little "tippy-taps"? When Ginger is excited, she sits like the polite babe that she is and she tippy-taps her front paws like she is dancing. It is the most precious, most endearing behavior ever.

Ginger has lived with respectful kiddos, about 5ish years old, before so we think she'd love to be a family dog! She really enjoyed being around them.

She knows how to sit, lay down and shake paws. In Ginger's previous home, she was amazing at being house-trained. She also was not destructive when left alone. When you are home, Ginger wants to be with you and isn't super comfortable if she knows you are there and can't see you. But if you are out running errands, she has done just fine on her own.

Depending on the resident dog, Ginger may do okay. She has lived with another dog before and co-existed nicely. We think she would be content to be the only dog, as well. She's mostly interested in attention and love from people. She was mostly uninterested in meeting kitty friends at the shelter; so, with a proper introduction, Ginger may do okay if you have cats.

Going for walks, snuggling and going for car rides are a few of her favorites. She also enjoys tennis balls, squeaky toys and tug ropes.

Ginger is about seven years old, is spayed and weighs 48 pounds. Her ears are perfect and her personality is precious. Please be patient when you meet her. She can be reserved initially then after some yummy, reinforcing treats, she realizes you are a friend. She's a gem and we love her so much.
