Meet Gina

Hi, my name is Gina! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Playful, bouncy, friendly, active

-Can Live with Kids: Unknown history. Gina can be mouthy and excitable with play (like most heelers), but she could likely live with respectful, dog-savvy kids of any age. Everyone will need to meet at the shelter first to ensure they all get along.

-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history, will need slow, supervised intro.

-Can Live with Dogs: Likely yes with slow and proper introductions. All initial intros are done at WHS to ensure everyone gets along!

-Can do Apartment Living: Apartment living could be doable with plenty of exercise/mental stimulation, although ideally she'd have a home with a yard.

-Potty Trained: Appears to be!

-Bite History: No

-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: No

-Energy Level: Medium/high

-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Nope, good to go!

Gina came to us as a stray after being found on an I-5 onramp. Fortunately a good samaritan was able to pick her up and bring her to safety! We don't know anything about Gina's history prior to coming to WHS, but she appears to be a friendly, well-adjusted dog who would likely be a good fit for most active families. Gina loves her squeaky toys and joyfully parades around the room showing them off. Gina knows "sit" and walks pretty well on leash. Gina is friendly, playful, and ready to find a forever family of her own! We recommend doing some research regarding herding breed behavior before committing to taking her home.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
