Gigi and PeeWee's Story

Meet Gigi & PeeWee!

Sometimes two little dogs come as a package deal, and these two girls would love nothing more than to find a home where they can stay together!

Gigi and PeeWee are two 3-year-old Yorkies who came to Dogworks from a breeder in West Virginia. Gigi weighs about 5 pounds, and PeeWee is around 12 pounds. Both girls have been spayed and are ready to find a family of their own!

Meet Gigi: Gigi is the little leader of this duo! She is loving, energetic, curious, and quite the jumper. Don’t let her small size fool you because this girl can really get some height! She loves hanging out with her foster’s pugs and always seems to keep an eye on Pee-wee. Gigi enjoys being around her people and is happiest when she knows her humans are nearby.

Meet PeeWee: PeeWee is our little pocket-sized lovebug who would be perfectly happy spending her time in someone’s arms. She is still coming out of her shell and can get a little worried when she can’t see her person. She loves being close to her humans and will need a family who can give her the reassurance and patience she needs to feel safe and secure.

Both girls adore people and are always hoping someone will scoop them up for some cuddles. They are calm when being held and enjoy exploring outside, too. They haven’t quite figured out how to play with toys yet, but they’re still learning what it means to just be dogs and enjoy life!

Gigi and PeeWee get along well with other dogs who are friendly with them. They are working on leash walking and are doing well with their potty training. They use potty pads and are getting close to being fully potty trained outside, but their new family will need to continue working with them. They are also crate trained.

These girls can be nervous around loud noises and don’t like being left alone for long periods. They will need a patient, loving home where they can continue building confidence and where someone understands that they may need a little extra reassurance as they settle in.

A secure, fenced yard is required. Gigi is a high jumper, and both girls are curious little explorers, so a leash or secure fencing is important to keep them safe. A taller privacy fence would be best.

Our dream would be to see Gigi and PeeWee adopted together. They have each other for comfort, and we’d love for them to continue life side by side. They would make wonderful little companions for someone who wants a pair of sweet lap dogs to love and spoil.

Could you be the person these two little girls have been waiting for? They have so much love to give and are ready to find a family who will give them the safe, happy life they deserve.

They are spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, microchipped, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Their adoption fee is $500 for both since they are a bonded pair.

Please follow the link below for the adoption application. DogWorks Inc. Canine Rescue and Placement's Adoption Policy
Dogworks strives to place dogs into permanent homes based on the dogs' personalities and yours. To adopt a dog, we require a completed application, signed adoption contract, and home visit. Applications can be submitted online, by mail, or in person at adoption events. Once your application has been submitted, we will contact your references and consider suitability. You will be contacted by phone or email, typically within 4 business days, to make arrangements for adoption. If a particular dog is not placed with you, it does not mean that your application has been rejected. Dogworks receives multiple applications for some dogs. Foster families always have the first option to adopt. We do not approve applications on a first come basis as we strive for placement that is best for the dog and adoptive family. The home environment, family composition and yard are very important considerations in our decision to place a dog in a home. Some dogs do not do well with young children or cats, and our hounds require a fenced yard as examples of our decision process. Adoption fees are variable (typically $125-$500.00) and are listed with the description of each dog. All fees collected are used to cover rescue expenses, including foster care and veterinary expenses. Adoption fee will be refunded if you decide that the dog is not compatible with your family within 2 weeks. All dogs have received age appropriate vaccinations, GI dewormer, and heartworm test prior to adoption if they are old enough. Adult dogs and puppies older than 12 weeks are spayed/neutered. Adopters of younger puppies may be required to sign an agreement to complete spay/neuter by 5 months of age. We will assist with spay/neuter costs. All of our dogs and puppies will be microchipped prior to adoption. Adopters will receive a copy of medical records when adoption contract has been signed and adoption fees have been paid in full. Requirements for adoption: Please be aware that your adoption application WILL NOT be approved by Dogworks unless ALL of these criteria are met: >Adopters must be within a one hour radius of Toledo. >Adopters must be at least 21 years of age. >Veterinary reference must be positive. >All dogs in the home must be spayed/neutered. >All members of the household must be in agreement to adopt. >Individual needs of the dog must be met in prospective home (e.g., fully fenced yard for all hounds).
