Gigi's Story

6/15/26 update:
Do you like potatos? If so, Gigi is looking for a foster to adopt home!

This 2.5 year old, 11ish# Chihuahua is essentially a tiny potato with legssmall, round, and absolutely adorable. While she may be a little shy when meeting new people, once she gets to know you, shell become your most loyal companion and happily stick by your side.

This sweet little girl loves belly rubs and will gladly roll onto her back the moment she thinks one might be coming. When shes excited, her curly little tail starts wagging, and shell even stand up on her hind legs to show her enthusiasm.

With a little patience and understanding, Gigi will reward you with endless love and companionship. She is both potty trained and crate trained, making her an easy addition to a loving home as long as you have the time and patience to gain her trust first. Gigi does well with other small dogs, though she may need some time to adjust due to her naturally timid nature.

If youre looking for a devoted best friend wrapped up in a potato-shaped package, Gigi might just be the perfect match for you!

!!When we first took Gigi and her sister Lola in, we thought they needed to be placed as a bonded pair, but over the months since we have had them, we realized they actually do very well apart, especially when other dogs are around. Both are doing well individually at this time!!!

Due to her small size and shy but sweet temperament, foster to adopt requirements are:

Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
Being able to bring her back to our vets office in Adams if additional care is needed prior to adoption. After adoption, we recommend taking her to your current vet to be established.
Homes with children over 12 years old should be ok, but Gigi would prefer a calm, quiet home to a more active environment.
Willing to have current family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure they are an acceptable match.
Having time available to care for, socialize and start the training of a new pet.
She scares easy when on a leash so homes with a fenced yard will be prioritized

An adoption donation of $450 is being asked if you choose to adopt, but fostering is free. She had her initial vet check, is current on vaccines, and has been spayed. All she lacks now is you!

Please help us to continue helping those that knock on our doors!

If you think you have room in your heart for a new addition, please fill out our jotform below! Don't forget to call your veterinarian's office to give consent for us to do our veterinary reference check since it is the first step in our adoption process!

To foster to adopt: https://form.jotform.com/Meowchatz/pet-adoption-application-form

or go to allcreaturesbigandsmall.org and email a completed adoption application.

11/30/25:
Foster or foster to adopt home needed!

We would like to introduce everyone to Lola and Gigi! These local Chihuahua girls will be 3 years old in February and are super sweet (and a bit needy). When their onwer found herself in failing health and her husband had to pick up extra hours at work, the family realized they needed more then they could provide so they reached out for help. They are going to need a little time to settle in so that we can get to know them better, and they could really use a foster home to do that in... They grew up with a few dog savy cats and okder kids so they should be fine with both! Unfortunately, due to their previous owners' declining health, they have not had much in the way of training. They did not have a good area to walk or play outside so they were trained to use weepads in the house but don't have a lot of experience outdoors yet. Their previous family really wanted them to find a place where they could feel the grass on their feet, run around in a secure yard and be able to be treated like the queen's they are.

Due to their small size and timidness, foster to adopt requirements are:

-Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
-Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
-Being able to bring them back to our vets office in Adams if additional care is needed prior to adoption. All Creatures Big And Small, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
All Creatures Big and Small is a foster based rescue, all of our animals are in foster homes. Since we don't have a shelter building, meet and greets are arranged after an application has been approved typically in the foster home. Foster homes are in Jefferson, Oswego and Onondaga counties (NY). The first step in our adoption process is filling out an adoption application. Please be sure to read the application and follow instructions. You MUST contact your current/previous vet upon filling out your application to say it's ok to release veterinary information to us. Once the vet reference check has been completed you will review an email or phone call from our dog or cat coordinator for additional information and to do a phone interview. This typically takes place within 24-72 hours. If all goes well, a meet and greet is scheduled. All family members must come to the meet and greet (including dogs) to make sure it is a good match and everyone is on board to adopt a new pet. If it is decided that the pet is a good match, an adoption can be done at that time and the pet can go home with you All adopters must live within 500 miles of Lacona, NY. We will not ship pets and all family members must travel to the adoption to be sure the pets and family are good with the potential new adoption.
