She is a breeder release girl continuing her journey to learn to live life as a house pet. She has finally settled in just lately, wanting to run up on the couch to give me kisses and sit on my lap for a bit. This came about after 6 months at our home. She loves having freedom in my fenced yard, loves being in the house and sitting next to me on the couch or snuggling with some of the other foster dogs. She's not yet keen on being held by other people but is doing better when we are at Meet and Greet events. She is not a fan of children, my grandkids come over often, they have been helping me with the rescue pups from the time they could walk, she barks and barks and barks at them. They can pet her if they are sitting next to me on the couch but once I put her down she runs and barks until I have to kennel her where she can't see them.
This journey to become a house pet is a lot! I put a harness on her when she goes to events , but she is not open to a leash yet. She fights a leashA fenced yard is a must for me. She had to have most all of mher teeth pulled as they were very rotten :( IShe does well with her kibble mixed with some canned food and a bit of warm water mixed in the make an oatmeal consistency gravy.Gigi is 3 1/2 yrs old , she weighs almost 12 pounds, her adoption fee is $400 plus sales tax $18=$418
More about GigiGood with small dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

Hi! I'm Gigi. I came to Dakota Dachshund Rescue with my two puppies Gabe and Boji. I am a breeder release girl just beginning to learn to live life as a house pet. I am finally settling in and realizing my foster mom is here to take care of me and won't hurt me. I love having freedom in my foster mom's fenced yard, love being in the house and sitting next to my foster mom on the couch. I'm not yet keen on being held. This journey to become a house pet is a lot! Wearing a harness, I am not open to a leash yet. A fenced yard is a must for me. I have to be followed around a cornered in order for my foster mom to pick me up. I had to have most all of my teeth pulled as they were very rotten :( I'm eaten softened food to make it easier on my mouth. Do you have time and patience to help me continue on this journey to become a house pet? I am 2 yrs old, I turn 3 yrs old in October, I weigh almost 12 pounds, my adoption fee is $400 plus sales tax $18=$418

My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, spay, dental with extractions and microchipping.
