Ghost's Story

You might wonder how a black dog came to be called "Ghost" and the answer will break your heart. He was "ghosted" by the rescue that pulled him from PRAS. He was placed with a foster by that rescue but then nothing.<br/>Sometimes fosters can keep a dog forever, but sometimes not. Ghost's foster had an older, smaller dog at home and she could no longer take care of Ghost. But we are happy to step in and find the perfect person or family for him!<br/>Ghost is an Affenpinscher mix and he is adorable. With energy for days, this 4-year-old sweet boy is looking for someone to keep up with him. Ghost loves people and loves to show you his tricks. He can walk on his back legs and twirl around!<br/>Ghost went to the vet today and needed to meet every single person there. This social butterfly got all of his vaccines and will soon be neutered.<br/>We are so happy to have Ghost with us and we will never ghost this amazing boy! Please come meet this amazing boy - he stands ready to showcase his charm and his twirls with you!<br/>Ghost and all of his friends are ready to meet you any day from 9am-12pm, 80 Butler Farm Road in Hampton!<br/>Interested? Animal Aid Society's Adoption Policy
We require an in-person meeting prior to processing an adoption application. If you think one of our dogs could be a good fit, come for a visit! If all goes well and you decide to pursue adoption, you may submit your adoption application. Once your family, including any dogs, have also met with the dog you wish to adopt, your application will be submitted to the Adoption Committee for review. We estimate the pre-adoption process can take up to 14 days or longer. PLEASE NOTE: AAS is committed to finding the best fit for each of our dogs. For this reason, we will accept multiple applications for a dog. In the case of multiple applications, we will select the applicant that is the best fit based on the needs of the dog. Adoption fee for puppy/adult dogs is $300.00. Adoption fee for senior dogs is $150.00. We prefer that adopters be located within 40 miles of the shelter to facilitate post adoption follow up.
