He kept to himself, curled up quietly, no barking, no chewing, no trouble at all. He let me put his harness on without hesitation and walked beautifully from day one.<br/><br/>And then, after just a couple of days, the real Ghost began to peek through.<br/><br/>Ghost is incredibly gentle, affectionate, and deeply people‑oriented. He’s the kind of dog who leans his whole body into you just to feel close. At night, he sleeps on the floor right next to my bed, and every morning I wake up to him quietly watching my face, waiting for me to open my eyes.<br/><br/>In the house, he’s an easy, respectful companion:<br/><br/>Fully house trained<br/><br/>No chewing<br/><br/>No guarding of food or toys<br/><br/>Calm and content with structure<br/><br/>He does get a little sad when I leave and will bark or cry for a few minutes, but he settles quickly and relaxes on his own.<br/><br/>Ghost loves a good walk followed by a lazy nap—preferably pressed up against his human. A Kong stuffed with peanut butter is his idea of heaven. He’s treat‑motivated, eager to please, and making progress on not jumping up when he gets excited to greet new friends. He assumes every person he meets will love him, and honestly, he’s usually right.<br/><br/>He’s not high‑energy, though a squirrel sighting will absolutely spark his enthusiasm. Lovepaws's Adoption Policy
Our volunteers work as fast as they can to process adoption applications. Upon receiving your application, we will email you an introductory email outlining the steps involved in the app review process and what we we need from you to keep the process moving. We conduct vet checks, reference checks, landlord checks, real estate checks and judiciary checks on all apps before we schedule meet and greets between applicants and our foster dogs. Once an application is approved, the meet and greet is arranged and you and the foster family decide whether the dog is a good fit for your family and home environment.
