Georgia's Story
What is your name?
Hi, I’m Georgia! I’m as sweet as a peach!

How old are you?
I’m old enough that I had a litter of puppies somewhere around May/June of 2025, but I’m still really young! I might have been born in the spring/summer of 2024. Feel free to pick a date around then and throw me a party! Don’t forget the cake.

What do you look like?
I’m a beauty queen! My foster mom did a DNA test on me and it turns out I’m a mix of Presa Canario, Cane Corso, Pit bull, and may have small traces of boxer, mastiff, and staffordshire terrier in me. I’m a beautiful dark gray with some white markings. My coat is so shiny! I’ve got really long legs–my foster mom originally thought I might be part dane because of how I’m built! I weigh about 65-70 lbs. I have pretty amber eyes.

What do you like to eat?
Anything! I’m not picky (once I trust the person giving me food). My foster mom usually feeds me food that has fish as the protein, but I’ve been fine on other meats too. I’m not as obsessed with peanut butter as some dogs are, but I do really love cream cheese….Hey, we’ve all got our quirks!

What kind of personality do you have?
I’m a shy girl. I warm up to people and become a total lover, but I’m usually wary at first. We don’t know why, but I’m also really afraid of being outside. I’ve made a lot of progress with this and even initiate going outside on my own now, but my future family can expect me to need some help building my confidence with anything involving outside adventures.
With all of that said, I should make sure to mention I’m also super goofy. I steal socks, get zoomies, and sometimes lean upright on the couch like I’m a human. I make my foster mom laugh every day!

Describe your perfect day
My perfect day would include a soft spot to land and my favorite human. Some other dogs might say their perfect day includes long walks and adventures, but I’m not that brave yet…maybe one day, though! For now, my perfect day includes safety, security, and cuddles with a human.

What is your favorite toy?
I like soft toys that I can throw around and chew on. My foster mom bought me a funny pirate chicken stuffed animal and I was scared of it for a few days, but now I like it! You just can’t trust a pirate chicken, ya know? It was weird.

Do you know any tricks?
Tricks? I mean…I did birth puppies once? If that doesn’t impress you, then I just don’t know what you want from me.

What scares you?
Air. Living. Breathing. Sounds. Lights being on. Lights being off. JK, kind of.
I benefit from having a relationship with a human and other dogs to help show me the ropes. Anything unpredictable was scary. Since I’ve been in my foster home, I’ve been gaining confidence slowly but surely! For example- At first, if I heard the air conditioner kick on (inside or outside of the house), I would cower and run. Now, it doesn’t phase me!
When I first moved to my foster home, I was so scared to be outside that sometimes I would refuse to potty, which meant I had accidents inside. That hasn’t happened in a LONG time, though! I’m totally getting the hang of going outside to potty and then coming back inside once I’ve done my business!

Do you like cats?
I can’t remember if I’ve met one before, but I might be okay. I met my foster cousin who is a miniature poodle and I did great with her. Mini poodle…. cat…same thing, right? Close enough?

Do you have any doggie best friends?
I love other dogs! I’m not the most socially intelligent; sometimes I don’t know how to read other dogs, but I want to be their friend! I live with 2 female dogs and 1 male dog, but I’ve met several other dogs (small and big!) and have been great! When I’m having a lot of fun, my play style could be described as the “hit and run”. I like to sprint like a banshee toward a dog to tease them and then run to get away from them. And repeat…and repeat..and repeat. Some dogs may not appreciate that play style…I forget that I’m a big girl and some dogs may not love the sight of me running straight for them even if I’m singing “I CAME IN LIKE A WRECCKKINNGG BALLLLL” during it.

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?
A comfy couch with friends (human or canine or both)!

How is your health?
I’m doing great! I overcame a UTI and stump pyometra after my spay and now I’m doing awesome!

How long have you lived in your foster home?
I moved into my foster home in August of 2025!

Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion?
I live with my foster mom and her 3 dogs. My foster siblings are all awesome, but my favorite is actually the dog that most other dogs hate! It’s weird because we’re polar opposites (she’s outgoing and lively and on-the-go and I’m…….not), but I’ve been really drawn to her!

Where do you hang out when you are home alone?
If I’m alone, I’m crated. I like my crate! Sometimes if I’m overwhelmed, I’ll just go crate myself on my own. It truly is my safe space and I love it.

Where do you sleep?
I sleep in a crate in my foster mom’s bedroom. When the other dogs wake her up to eat breakfast, we all eat in our crates and then she lets me cuddle with her in bed for about an hour. I’m so sweet and I love that time!

What do you love about your foster family?
I love how patient she has been with me. She sometimes pushes me to be brave so I can gain confidence, but she also lets me be curious and try to figure things out on my own.

What was life like before you were rescued by Even Chance and brought into the welcoming arms of your foster parents?
My story is sad and we don’t even know all of it…
I was picked up by the police as a stray dog in the summer and was kept outside of their police station for 3 days. We aren’t sure why I was kept outside there for that amount of time….Finally, an officer noticed I wasn’t looking too good, so they took me to animal control. When I got there, they realized I was experiencing heat exhaustion. They took good care of me there and I recovered.
It was clear that I had recently had puppies, but no one was able to find the puppies. I was still really swollen and producing milk. There were 2 puppies at the shelter who didn’t have a mom, so I became a surrogate mom to them. I’m such a good momma.
When the puppies were weaned from me, I found myself all alone in a big, loud, scary place. The shelter staff and volunteers really loved me and wanted to help, but I was so shut down and scared. I would cower and shake in my kennel. When volunteers came to walk me outside, I would pancake. Some volunteers would just sit with me and give me gentle pets in my kennel. Even when I was so scared and shutdown, I wanted to be able to trust humans and receive their love.
My foster mom saw a post about me on social media and even though I wasn’t that interested in her at first, she brought me home and now I LOVE HER. I’m so glad Even Chance took a chance on me!

Even Chance does not operate on a first come, first serve basis. In most cases we have already decided the type of home and owner we want for our dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform prior to accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as they spend time in our homes. Our agency reserves the right to deny acceptance of any dog to an owner who we feel the lifestyle does not match that of the dog. We are in no way judging you or your lifestyle; we simply want to put our dogs in the best living situation possible. We take very seriously the decision we make when it comes to placing one of our dogs in a forever home. If I sound like the perfect pit bull for you and your family and you are interested in giving me a forever home, do not hesitate! Please fill out an application at evenchance.org/adopt. We look forward to meeting any and all interested applicants.
