GEORGE - Needs a Foster/Forever Home's Story
Estimated Birth Year: 2021

George is an easygoing, gentle, polite, sweet boy who loves being with people and is great on a leash! He was originally found when he was 1-year-old and was listed on Craigslist looking to trade him for drugs and paraphernalia. The person was selling George as a watchdog and keeping him outside on a chain. One of our volunteers saw the ad on Craigslist and saved him, and George joined Make A Difference Rescue. He was extremely afraid of everything, even being touched. Our shelter staff/volunteers worked with George, and the transformation was amazing!!

He was adopted, but then he was returned to us and is waiting for the next chapter of his life. He continues to be socialized and goofy, enjoys being petted, and knows how to shake hands. He loves bones filled with peanut butter, lots of treats, and Nylabones. He especially loves playing with the water coming out of the hose!!! George would prefer to be the only dog. Unfortunately, we do not know how George is with cats. Children 16 years old or older. His forever home is required to have a totally enclosed, physically fenced yard where he can safely run and play. George is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, on a monthly heartworm preventative, and crate-trained. He needs a family/person who is used to big dogs or small horses (he's a little smaller than a regular-size Great Dane, but he's still a big boy). George is waiting to find out what it is like to be in an active, loving family!

All dogs we rescue stay with us until they find their forever homes. A home visit is required to ensure our dog is going to a safe environment and our dog gets along with your dog(s) and/or cat(s). We require all our dogs over the age of 1 year to attend 1 obedience class (6-week session) outside the home. You must live within 1 hour of Birmingham, MI, to adopt one of our dogs. No out-of-state or outside the U.S. adoptions or fosters. George's adoption fee is $300.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING GEORGE, PLEASE GO TO MAKEADIFFERENCERESCUE.COM TO DOWNLOAD AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION.
