She loves to be near her human. She loves to have her belly rubbed and snuggle under a blanket on the couch. Gemma will want to sleep with you at night, right by your side. She loves to give kisses. She is incredibly tiny, but big on personality!<br/><br/>We must say no to a home with cats, mainly because she’s never been around one, and we have no way to properly test her with one.<br/><br/>Gemma was an owner surrender from Tennessee. Her family had life changes and wanted the best for Gemma so she was surrendered to AADR.<br/><br/>If you are looking for a love bug, then Gemma would be the one for you, but understand she has never been an only dog, so we’ll only consider people who have another young, small dog to keep her company while you are out of the home. <br/><br/>Our must-haves for sweet little Gemma include:<br/> - A fenced yard<br/> - Someone who can be home more often than not<br/> - Another young, small dog for her to play with and cuddle with<br/> - No apartments, high-rises, or condos since she, like other Dachshunds, likes to bark<br/><br/> ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============<br/><br/>AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.<br/><br/>If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.
