Gavin Mixed Breed Westfield, NY

Gavin arrived at NCCR on 9/28/23, returned when is owner no longer had time for him. He is a neutered male mixed breed, now approximately 1 ½ years old. Gavin lived with another dog and they got along well. He is house trained and knows some other basic commands. Sorry, no felines for this fella!

His owner had this to say: “Gavin loves playing with tennis balls. He is usually mellow, but often playful and likes to run and sniff for other animals. He would do best in a house with a med-large fenced in yard. Gavin loves blankets and pillows but the tends to rip them up, so he has an indestructible cot bed. He often chooses the floor in a sunny area to nap. He knows basic commands like sit, stay and come. He listens best with his training collar on (beeps and vibrations used only) in addition to treats for appropriate behaviors. Gavin has a wild side and loves to run. He can play a little too rough sometimes, and should not live in a house with cats or be unsupervised with young children. Gavin loves to walk but he needs more work on not pulling. He likes to say hello by putting his paws on your shoulders and kissing your face. He loves pets, scratches and belly rubs.”

After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.
