Gary (Robbie)'s Story

Gary (Robbie on paperwork)

11 year old Neutered Male
Parson Russell Terrier Mix

Gary came to us from OKC Animal Welfare. He is a bit of a grumpy old man at times, and a gentle sweetheart at others. Noisy, high-strees places like a shelter kennel rreally wasn't his sort of scene, and he'd much rather a quiet older couple to settle down and spend afternoons on the porch with.

Kids and other loud, excitable dogs are a bit too much for this old timer (but chill, lazy dogs like him are fine!). He'd rather retire in the company of some lazy cats, and some homebodies who'll watch TV with him in the evenings. He definitely is the kind of dog to sit on the couch with you, and sleep at the foot of your bed, but not quite lap-dog material. He'd prefer you didn't pick him up, and all pets be gentle and slow.

Pee Pads and a doggy door suit Gary best. Old guys like him do well will belly bands if neither of those are options, but please do not expect him to hold it consistently. Once you get to a certain age, the warning is minimal, and that's where he's at.

As a senior, any adopter must understand that Gary will have limited years left with them. We are committed to helping a family care for him in any way they need, but will be very choosy about the type of environment he spends his golden years in.
