Meet Garfield!<br/>Garfield is a 3-year-old male dog with a big heart and an even bigger love for his people. He’s lived in a home with young children before and did well, but we believe he’d truly thrive in a quieter home with no kids or with older, dog-savvy kids who can respect his space.<br/>This sweet boy is a total cuddle bug and loves being close to his humans. Once he bonds with you, he bonds deeply! Garfield is eager to learn and wants to please—he’ll do best with someone willing to provide gentle guidance, consistency, and continued training to help him reach his full potential.<br/>Garfield would likely prefer to be the only dog in the home, as he forms strong attachments to his people and may not enjoy sharing their attention. He is currently being fostered with cats and is learning the ropes—he wants to play with them, but needs slow introductions and help understanding that the cats don’t share his enthusiasm.<br/>He also benefits from slow, calm introductions to new people, as he can be a bit unsure at first. We work hard to ensure that our rescues have a supportive family while at foster homes to help them move forward and get ready for their forever home. We work on training, crate-training and socialization before an animal is adopted out.
