Garbanzo's Story

Hi, my name is Garbanzo! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Playful, people oriented, affectionate
-Can Live with Kids: Yes - Garbanzo lived with kids 10+ in her previous home and should be fine doing so again. All kiddos will have to meet at WHS to ensure it's a good match!
-Can Live with Cats: Yes - slow/supervised introductions. Garbanzo's previous owners mentioned he does have a higher prey drive with small animals like rabbits/birds, so we recommend no small animals.
-Can Live with Dogs: Yes - Garbanzo has a positive history living with dogs and would likely benefit from living with another dog again. All initial introductions done at WHS to ensure everyone gets along.
-Can do Apartment Living: Yes
-Potty Trained: Appears to be
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: No
-Energy Level: Medium
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, neuter/MC.

Meet Garbanzo - a young, spunky guy looking for his furr-ever home. Garbanzo has been through quite a lot in the last 6 months, he was found as a stray in California, transported up to Washington to find a new family, and then surrendered to WHS. Through all of those changes, Garbanzo has remained chipper as ever and will greet you with full body wiggles. He loves to interact with his people and would really love to go into a home where someone is home often to keep him company. Garbanzo came in with his friend Chickpea and it's obvious he enjoys the companionship of a canine friend, so if you have a social and playful resident dog that's a big added bonus! If you're interested in adopting Garbanzo, please fill out an application for review.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
