Gaia's Story

Meet Gaia!

Rescued from a desert ditch with her puppies, Gaia has blossomed in foster care into an amazingly sweet, graceful, and trustworthy companion. Thought to be a Whippet/Lab mix around 2 years old and 40 lbs, she has a gorgeous "Bambi-like" build-all legs, athletic, and built for fun!

Why You'll Fall in Love:
- Dream Houseguest: Completely reliable free-roaming home alone with zero destructive habits-no crate needed! If needed to be crated she'll go in reluctantly without fussing once in there. She handles daytime and evening home-alone time like an absolute pro.
- Rock-Solid Door Manners: Gaia has really learned to respect the door and no longer has the urge to escape. Non-darter with great boundary respect. You can bring groceries through an open door and she'll calmly wait inside.
- Adventure Ready: An ideal running or walking partner who loves car rides and has a blast hunting for lizards! She easily steps into her harness and is making great progress on loose-leash walking.
- Great with Kids & Dogs: Thrives in a calm home with adults and kids (she loves her 4-year-old human foster sister!) and does best with smaller (under 35 lbs), mellow dog siblings who she'll love to play with. She has yet to be cat tested

Her Ideal Match
Gaia is gentle and reserved at first, but once she trusts you, an adorable, playful, and deeply loving dog emerges. She values her quiet personal space while resting in her dog bed (she prefers no petting while sleeping), but sweetens right up for affection when up and moving-especially for harness hugs and back kisses! Because she has a history as a clever escape artist, a secure yard and a patient family will give her the safe foundation she needs.
The love Gaia has to give is boundless-she just needs the right person to unlock it.

Ready to open your heart?
