Meet Friendly!<br/><br/>Friendly is a 2-year-old Pit Mix with a huge personality and even bigger enthusiasm for life!<br/><br/>This energetic young dog came to us as a stray and is ready to find an active family that can keep up with him. Friendly loves getting outside and stretching his legs, and once he hits the play yard, he takes off like a track star! <br/><br/>Friendly also loves playing with other dogs. He recently enjoyed a playful session with another male dog, where the two spent their time wrestling and having a blast together. Friendly has a very physical, enthusiastic play style and may need help taking breaks so he doesn't become overtired or overexcited. He also occasionally attempted to mount during play, so continued work on appropriate play manners will be important.<br/><br/>When Friendly is highly excited, he can have difficulty focusing and may be hard to redirect. However, giving him time to decompress makes a big difference. Once he settles down, his affectionate side shines through! Friendly loves attention, happily seeks affection, and has even climbed into his handler's lap for cuddles and kisses.<br/><br/>Friendly is still learning boundaries and basic manners. He's a jumper and will need continued positive reinforcement training, consistency, exercise, and enrichment to help him become the best version of himself.<br/><br/>He is looking for an active home that enjoys walks, adventures, training, and plenty of playtime. Because of his tendency to jump and his high level of enthusiasm, a home with older children, approximately 16 and up, would be the best fit.<br/><br/>Friendly should have a cat-free home due to his intense interest in cats.<br/><br/>He has shown positive, playful interactions with other dogs, particularly dogs who enjoy a rough-and-rowdy wrestling style. Dog interactions should continue to be supervised, with breaks provided when Friendly becomes overly excited.<br/><br/>Friendly does well with baths and is a fun, affectionate, athletic boy who is ready to find someone willing to match his enthusiasm for life.<br/><br/>If you're looking for a dog who will keep you active, make you laugh, and greet every day like it's the greatest day ever, Friendly might be your perfect match!<br/><br/>Friendly is currently not yet neutered, so his adoption is limited to Stafford County residents and neighboring counties until his neuter surgery is completed.
