Frieda's Story

Meet Frieda, a sweet, loving senior Dachshund with a heart of gold, a penchant for blanket burrowing, and the sweetest disposition you could ever ask for. She’s estimated to be 9-10 years old and weighs 14 lbs.

Frieda is a true companion dog in every sense of the word. Her favourite place in the world is right next to you—ideally touching you at all times—showered in cuddles and giving out endless kisses. She's a professional blanket-burrower who loves to tunnel underneath and pop her little head out just like a person to see what's going on.

Frieda is also a brave breast cancer survivor. Despite two major surgeries, she fought like the survivor she is and is cancer free now! She is more than ready to turn the page and find her forever family.

She is loving, sweet, snuggly, and fiercely devoted to her humans. She loves toys, leisurely strolls, soft beds, and would happily claim a spot on your bed at night if you'll share. We would recommend a home without shared walls since Frieda can be vocal at times! She also loves to sunbathe, so a fenced in yard is a must for her!

Frieda has a healthy sense of confidence. She gets along wonderfully with calm, peaceful dogs and loves her current foster sisters, but as a bit of an alpha herself, she does best when she's the only dominant personality in the room. She would thrive either as a cherished only dog or alongside a laid-back canine companion.

Frieda is currently soaking up all the love in her foster home, but she's more than ready for a lap (and a bed) of her own. Could you be the lucky human she's been waiting for?

Frieda is being fostered in Austin, TX and is adoptable in Texas and Northeastern States.

*All breed listings are educated guesses and not guaranteed*
