Freya's Story

Meet Freya

Some dogs run marathons. Some dogs chase tennis balls all day. Freya's greatest talent is loving people.

Freya is a beautiful 70-pound Shepherd/Bull Terrier mix with a truly special soul. She has hip dysplasia, which limits her mobility, but what she lacks in physical ability she makes up for tenfold with affection, sweetness, and an endless capacity for love.

Freya doesn't need an active lifestyle. She enjoys getting outside to use the restroom, spending a little time playing, and then returning to the comfort of her home and the people she loves. Her happiest moments are simply being near her family.

Despite her physical challenges, Freya has a gentle and loving personality. She is housebroken, does well with children, and gets along with other dogs. She has spent her life surrounded by family and love, and she deserves a home where she will continue to be cherished.

Her current owner loves her deeply but recognizes that Freya would benefit from a family who can provide the specialized veterinary care and attention she needs. What Freya is looking for isn't perfection, it's compassion. She needs someone who will see beyond her disability and love her for the incredible dog she is.

Quick Facts:
* Shepherd/Bull Terrier mix
* Approximately 70 lbs
* Extremely affectionate and loving
* Has hip dysplasia and will need ongoing veterinary care
* Good with children
* Good with other dogs
* Housebroken
* Low-energy lifestyle
* Loves companionship and affection
* Looking for a special adopter who will love her just as she is

Freya may not be the dog that hikes mountains or spends hours playing fetch, but she will be the dog who greets you with love every day, comforts you when you're sad, and reminds you that the biggest hearts often come in the most unexpected packages.

If you believe every dog deserves a chance to be loved, Freya is waiting for you.

Apply to adopt Freya here: https://www.cognitoforms.com/Okandogs1/DogAdoptionApplication

Okandogs's Adoption Policy
Our screening process is designed to ensure a good home for every dog. References are checked. If we have an application ahead of time and are able to pre-check the references, the dog may be able to go home at the end of the adoption day’s “meet and greets” with the potential adopter if the full process has been completed. It is REQUIRED that ALL people and dogs with whom the adoptable dog will reside do a meet and greet. The meet and greet is for the dog’s benefit as well as that of the family. We need to see that the dog is comfortable with and appropriate for all individuals in the family for the best possible outcome. Factors such as hours alone, methods of confinement, experience and needs of the particular dog - exercise, medical, and behavioral – are all considered for placement. We will go over all information in the dog’s adoption packet when the contract is signed.
