Freya's Story

Meet Freya, a SUPER sweet 6 month old female Poodle/Cattle dog/Terrier mix puppy! Freya is one of the pups from the Oktoberfest litter, born to mama Gretchen (37 lb German Wirehaired Pointer mix - found as a stray in east TN when she was heavily pregnant) on 10/29/2025. We are unsure what Dad is, but based on the pups' current age and size, we think these scruffy pups will grow to around 40-60 lbs. She LOVES kids and is great with other dogs and also cats (she has been fostered with both).

From Freya's current foster:

"Freya is the perfect balance of calm and silly! She enjoys independent play and then settling in for the coziest snuggles. She is a playful, kind-hearted, and gentle soul who gets along amazingly with other dogs, cats, and kids. Freya and her sister Petra are true social butterflies with great manners for their age. Whether it's playing by themselves or together or settling in for a nap, they adjust beautifully. She is crate trained and doing great with potty training. If you're looking for a puppy who is affectionate, fun, well socialized, and off to a fantastic start with training, Freya will steal you heart in no time!"

Freya is medically up to date (age appropriate), crate trained, and mostly housebroken (expect accidents while adjusting to a new home/routine). She is so excited to embark on her next adventure - finding her furever family! Apply to meet this sweetie today!

Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt

Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs. We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted. As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding!

Adopters must sign the contract before taking the dog home with them. You have 48 hours after meeting the dog to decide to adopt or not to adopt. - We try not to hold up dogs for too long and do not want to miss out on a good home for them. 5) If you choose to adopt, you will need to sign before picking the dog up, or bringing the dog home. We ask for a "I am furever home" picture to post to our website after each dog has been adopted! ** We are NOT adopting to MA or ME residents at this time! Thank you!
