FREYA Pit Bull Terrier & Black Labrador Retriever Mix Hamilton, NJ

Freya is an absolutely gorgeous lab/pit bull mix looking for her forever home. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and in great health. She's a petite girl weighing just around 46 pounds. She’s a New Years baby and is just about to turn 3 years old. She has a sleek black coat (with maybe just a few premature grey hairs) and the sweetest eyes.

Freya was extremely high energy as a puppy and teenager, and unfortunately her previous families did not have the proper outlets for her energy, which caused this poor girl to be bounced around from home to home. When Freya came to our rescue, she was very confused. She is a dog that loves to work and needed mental stimulation, but she was never given appropriate mental stimulation, proper obedience training and socialization.

Over the past few months, Freya has bonded and blossomed with one of our volunteers. Freya has attended weekly obedience classes and if you’re someone who enjoys working with dogs, you will love this girl! She’s very engaged and connected with her handler and so happy to now have a purpose. If you are interested in dog sports, her trainer believes she would make a great candidate for agility! She is toy and food motivated and loves to work and please her handler.

Freya enjoys swimming at the lake, going on walks and runs and pretty much exploring anywhere outside. She has so much fun playing catch and sniffing out treat puzzles, and she’s really good at them too!

Freya would likely do best as an only dog, but would love to have a friend if the other dog was extremely tolerant. She has previously lived with cats and would be okay in a home with cats that are used to dogs.

This girl does need a dog savvy or bully breed experienced home to reach her full potential. Freya is waiting to find her partner in crime and is excited to go out and enjoy life with them! Could you be her forever person??
