Meet Freeway " Puggle Mix Male Tons of Fun!"

Freeway was found, as you can guess, on the freeway in Grapevine a few days before Thanksgiving dodging traffic. He was so scared and skinny and covered in fleas. He smell terrible. After about 20 minutes of blocking traffic and crawling under a car, our medical director was able to get him out from under the car where he sought safety. Thank goodness the driver of said car stopped to help. Freeway never ran away or tried to bite. He was thankful to be saved. Where he was rescued it would have been impossible for him to get to on his own. He must have jumped out of another vehicle or was dumped, so sad.
Freeway stays in his crate over night and when his foster mom is not home. He hates it but he has gotten used to the routine. When he is first let out of the crate he is extremely vocal with excitement. His foster mom thinks he is part Schnauzer! He doesn't have accidents overnight but goes straight outside first thing in the am! This is a success. He had to learn to potty outside. He now goes in and out on his own and hasn't had any accidents in a while.
He prefers to be inside with his person at all times. Right now that person is our medical director that saved him from that scary freeway and mean cars. He bonds very quickly. He will bonds to new people we are sure. He wants all the attention and even though he likes other dogs and enjoys playing with them he really doesn't want to share his people. He needs someone home with him most of the time to help him continue his training and develop the self esteem to be the best dog he can be. He would not be good for small children or a first time pet. He needs a very experienced owner with the patience and time to work with him. He is very sweet and just wants the chance! He LOVES to play fetch and will play with any toy! The stuffed ones don't stand a chance but we have figured out his favorite! We love him and hope the right family will see his special qualities as well.
