Meet Freddie Fazbear

Freddie Fazbear is a sweet lil guy who came in as a stray with a skin condition and has been in a foster home healing up.

He’s healthy and growing his coat back in and is putting himself out there looking for a match that’ll accept a middle aged gentleman who has some potential allergies to figure out.

Freddie has been in his foster home with two other large male dogs and a 3rd grade child and has welcomed all new visitors to the home with a wagging tail and a smile. He is a complete dream and we can’t say enough good things about him.

-Housetrained: he has never once went to the bathroom or marked in the house.
-Crate trained: spends time in his crate with no problems when his family is at work and sleeps in there soundly most nights.
-Trustworthy: he has not been destructive or chewed anything besides the bones and dog toys when not supervised. He also can be trusted to stay loose out of his crate when no one is home or to sleep on the couch at night.
-Good manners: he knows sit, walks easy on leash, doesn’t get too excited when he sees other dogs, loves his food and toys but respects the people giving the high value items and has not shown any guarding signs.
-Dog friendly: he is calm and respectful of the senior dog in his foster home and playful and patient with the 8 month old large puppy. He is content to chew bones next to other dogs with no issue but does give an appropriate growl when the puppy tries to take what he is chewing. This is completely normal and is his way of politely telling the dog to back off.
-Child friendly: he has been calm, cuddly and comfortable around the chaos and noise that an active kid brings to the home. He does like his space sometimes though and an adult should be sure the child doesn’t smother him or be too rough with their love. We feel he’d be great in a home with respectful kids.

Freddie is estimated to be 6-7 years old and currently weighs 54 pounds but could gain about 5 more. He looks like he will be a blue tri color when his fur grows back in (gray body, white and tan/brindle legs and paws).

Our veterinarian suspects he has a food or environmental allergy that was ignored and he scratched and it he’d himself raw which led to secondary skin infections. He is taking a daily over the counter allergy pill and will need an adopter who is committed to experimenting with his diet, etc to be sure he never has to suffer from flare ups again. If you’re interested in him but not familiar with allergies his foster mom is happy to chat about the situation so don’t hesitate to reach out and see if it’s something you’re comfortable with handling.

Contact his foster mom to find out how to meet him or for questions at jrabbitt651@msn.com or Check him out in action on IG @therealshelterdogs
